We are currently seeking a Manufacturing Engineer III in Orange, CT.
The Manufacturing Engineer III will be responsible for overseeing the planning, development, implementation and maintenance of manufacturing equipment and processes for new and existing products.
Responsibilities:
- Work with the site team and production operators to establish stable and repeatable manufacturing processes. Solve real time problems in processing equipment and tooling. Implement workable solutions in both the short and long term so that failure modes are effectively understood and eliminated.
- Support the development of all internal drawings and process control documentation for all new processes including work instructions, inspection plans, and engineering prints.
- Manage and/or lead manufacturing projects from contract receipt through delivery to ensure products are manufactured safely and in compliance with customer requirements.
- Ensure effective communication with customers, sales, quality, operations, purchasing and planning to drive projects to completion within lead time and budget.
- Manage vendor relationships and expectations through direct contact.
- Support new product industrialization and control procedures, and ensure work is completed in the required time frame and budget requirements.
- Use software as required to design/modify and detail machining fixtures, tooling, and stampings tools. Ensure that the design meets customer print and specification requirements as required, and that the designs are optimized for safety, manufacturability, assembly, and production use.
- Regulatory documentation for validation, CAPA, and procedures.
Qualifications:
- A bachelor’s degree in engineering or similar discipline is required.
- Advanced technical knowledge associated with a master’s degree would be a plus
- 10+ years’ work experience in an engineering capacity in a manufacturing environment
- Proven track record of project development and management.
- Ability to be self-directed and work in a cross-functional team (Manufacturing, Sales, and Engineering) environment is essential
- Understanding of lean principles and ability to implement improved processes
- Working knowledge of health, safety and environmental best practices
- Able to write clearly and speak convincingly as a large amount of time is spent working with people within and outside of the company
- Able to make independent decisions as well as operate in a team environment.
- Strong Solid Works / AutoCAD skills.
- Must be proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
