We invest in excellent working partnerships, powered by people.We are currently seeking a 2nd shift Test Technician in Wallingford, CT.Position Summary and Special Duties:As a (an) Test Technician your day to day duties will consist of and may not be limited to: performing tests, troubleshooting and other related tasks in the manufacture of Antennas, Microwave components, Optical connectors, RF Switches, Connectors, and electronics products for aerospace flight high-reliability/military and commercial applications.Electronic Test Technician Minimum Requirements:Associates Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics or other related discipline2+ years’ experience working in electronics industryExperience with use of equipment for testing RF products such as, spectrum analyzers, frequency counters and multimetersCapable of reading and have basic understanding of electrical schematicsWork closely with engineers to solve problemsWork closely with engineers to generate assembly and test methods for new and existing productsTroubleshoot products and make suggestions for improvementHave basic soldering skills and be able to work with surface mount componentsCapable of following directions, working with limited documentation and participate in generating new documentationBe highly organized and capable of working on multiple projectsHave good computer skillsCapable of training other personnelHave excellent verbal and written skillsElectronic Test Technician Preferred Skills and Knowledge:Basic understanding of simple circuitsBe mechanically inclined with ability to build test fixturesElectronic Test Technician Additional Requirements:Candidate must be US Citizen or Permanent Resident (Greencard holder)Experience:Electronic: 2 years (Required)DETAILS:Duration: 6 months temp to hire.Location: Wallingford, CT.Salary: $24hr. with OT -$24 while training on 1st shift 6:30-2pm.. Performs visual inspection of parts and equipment to ensure conformance to quality standards and to identify non-conformance where it occurs. Performs all work according to engineering drawings, written work procedures, and verbal and written instructions.Uses scales, tape, calipers, micrometer, combination-square and other measuring equipment to inspect parts, equipment, and their proper installation to rail car body. Has the capability of using English and Metric systems of measurement.Records data and findings from inspections in inspection reports and related documentation with a high degree of accuracy, completeness, and attention to detail. Demonstrates an excellent mechanical aptitude.The QC Inspector must be able to read and interpret all engineering drawings and blueprints, and has a demonstrated proficiency in all inspection phases listed below. Must be able to work independently and to conduct the final inspection of an entire rail car. Must be capable of using measuring instruments including, but not limited to, tape measures, calipers, micrometers, etc. Must read, write, and speak English and know how to read engineering drawings (blueprints). Must be proficient in the English measurement system and be able to learn the Metric system of measurement within a specified period of time. Must be capable of working in an active manufacturing environment, be able to climb stairs and ladders, and be able to lift, push, or pull at maximum 40 lbs. This position involves the use of CNC (Computer Numeric Control) machine shop equipment. Primarily Vertical Turret Lathe with Fanuc Controls and 5 axis Mori DMG with Siemens controls. As a (an) CNC Machinist your day-to-day duties will consist of and may not be limited to: Responsibilities:Set up and operate, with knowledge of desirable speeds and feeds for various alloys. Ability to safely and effectively fixture and set up a variety of castings of various sizes and shapes. Knowledge of standard G codes, ability to use various measuring equipment to verify work performed along with the ability to offset and edit if needed to attain a quality part the first time every time. The ability to program is desirable. Most of the work is done on castings in a high mixed low volume environment. Set up and operate CNC 5 Axis MillingVertical and Horizontal Machining Experience with Mastercam preferredExperience with SolidWorks a plus Education / Certification:High school graduate preferred - will consider commensurate experience. Has passed Certification Test established by the Company for each machine that is used without close supervision. Requirements: Experience in Mastercam on horizontal CNC milling machine as well as VTL.Program and setup 5 axis machine.Working knowledge of other forms of CAD software, Vericut and SolidWorks is a plus.Understand GD&T, read and interpret blueprints.Ability to hold tight tolerances.Strong verbal communication.Assist in helping operators to maintain production and quality.
